The purpose of benchmarks and categories is to have your athletes be able to rank themselves within the levels you set up.
So, if you add in ‘Fran’ as a benchmark workout, you will be able to do two things. First, you will be able to determine what category this workout is. You can set up as many or as few categories as you’d like (done under the categories tab). Most gyms who utilize this feature set up strength, met-con, gymnastics, and monostructural endurance. So, we can set ‘Fran’ as a met-con workout.
Next what you will be able to do is set scores for the benchmark. For an Rx athlete, you can set it so that the maximum duration would be 10:00, then for a Scaled athlete you could say anything greater than 10:00. This way, if I log a 5:00 Rx Fran time, I will be ranked as an Rx athlete for that benchmark. I will be able to see this in my user profile as well.
The more workouts you set under a specific category and as benchmarks, the more data I will have on myself as an athlete. My profile would show me where I rank for all categories that are set up.
